School was founded by Contra Mestre Paulo Batuta.

Paulo Batuta had his first real contact with Capoeira, in Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1985. He trained with the group called Cordao de Ouro. In 1997, Paulo moved to San Diego. In 1999, given permission by Master Marcelo Pereira, Paulo joined the group Capoeira Mandinga, and founded Capoeira Mandinga of San Diego.

In September of 2002, he started a new branch of Capoeira Mandinga in Las Vegas, Nevada.

By the turn of 2008 Capoeira Mandinga Las Vegas was reformed by Contra Mestre Dilaho into CTE Capoeiragem Las Vegas. CM Dilhao is a technician in Physical Education and has been teaching the art of capoeira for 16 years. He coordinates all work related to CTE Capoeiragem group all over the south of Bahia which includes social work and charity. CTELV now has three locations throughout the Las Vegas valley.
